Distract your mind.
Daydream and avoid that lie.
I know you're scared
And that's okay.
Just think about
Your life one day.
Who will you be?
Who will you date?
Will you always
Arrive to class late?
Think of your lover.
Who will you marry?
How many kids do you want?
Think about their names,
Will they enjoy
Playing games?
Ignore your fright
You're doing just fine.
Will you arrive
To your flights on time?
Where will you go?
What will you do?
What outfits will you wear?
Maybe something new.
What's your favorite color?
What grade are you in?
Who was your best friend
Way back when.
What school do you go to?
What's your team name?
Have you ever won a football game?
What's your first class?
What are your grades?
You should at least have one A.
What music do you like?
Old or new?
Or maybe international
It all depends on you.
Do you go to church?
Are you a Christian?
Do you have any friends
In your subdivision?
Ignore those noises
Think about you.
What you will do in life.
Will you succeed?
Will you get a college degree?
What will you be?
An author?
A scientist?
A teacher?
A dentist?
There are so many ways
And so many things
To distract your mind
When you're scared.
So ignore everything
And think about your future.
Always remember
Whether or not you're a Christian.
God is always there.
